Many agree that this is the age of social media. Social media is no longer limited to people only connecting with friends and sharing moments with them in the form of photographs and videos. Organizations are trying their best to make use of the audience available at different social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc and in this race, entrepreneurs are not far behind. Every day, we see enterprises coming up with innovative ideas to garner attention from the social media and market their brand through effective but creative strategies.

That said, there is not unanimous agreement regarding the effectiveness of social media marketing. Many still believe that it’s a buzzword with no practical advantages,

but when we look at figures from the surveys taken by HubSpot and Social Media Examiner, they bring home the fact that Social Media IS the next big trend to hit the marketing world. According to HubSpot, 92% of marketers in 2014 claimed that social media marketing was important for their business, with 80% indicating their efforts increased traffic to their websites. And according to Social Media Examiner, 97% of marketers are currently participating in social media—but 85% of participants aren’t sure what social media tools are the best to use.

To take advantage of this here-to-stay marketing strategy, here are some blogging tips for new social media marketing content writers:

TIP# 1

A good social media marketer listens more and talks less. By reading into what their target audience is saying online, they will be able to gather what is important to them, what topics are overdone and what new topics will be a value addition.

TIP# 2

Your social media marketing strategy should be highly focused. Rather than trying to be the jack of all trades, focus on your target audience and what is important to them—– A diluted social media strategy can have the opposite effect than you’re intending it to. Write about one thing, and write about it well.

TIP# 3

Quality trumps quantity! It’s better to have 1000 connections that read and respond to your content regularly rather than 10,000 connections that bounce from your website as soon as they click in.

TIP# 4

A smart social media marker always reciprocates! You can’t expect others to share your content if you don’t share theirs.

TIP# 5

Concentrate on sharing authentic, genuine and insightful content so that people are motivated to share it with their audience. Your reputation can spread like wildfire if your followers believe in you and your content. If they see it of value, your followers could multiply exponentially
